What we do...

Performance
We perform a 40 minute piece of theatre, entitled Every Cloud. It is a montage of different stories around the theme of ‘hope’. What is hope? What does it mean to hope? What difference does hope make? How can I have hope?
The audience follows three different characters as they encounter both hopeful, and seemingly hopeless situations. Along the way we see snippets of the stories of a whole host of other characters. The play uses famous stories of hope, as well as drawing on hope stories from the performers’ own lives, injecting the piece with credibility and authenticity. The stories range from lighthearted fantasies, to those which address deep issues relevant to a secondary school age group. It is a fast-paced and dynamic ensemble piece, encompassing both naturalistic and abstract forms of theatre.
Every Cloud will make you laugh, may make you cry, and will certainly make you think, as it explores what is meant by “hope” and demonstrates the transformative power that hope can have.
Lessons and Workshops
We have developed a variety of lessons and workshops to work in conjunction with Every Cloud. We use discussion, scenarios and drama to explore and reflect on the personal and social issues raised in the performance. We aim to help young people discover hope for their own lives and their communities. The sessions encourage young people to live in the light of this hope, empowering them to bring positive change in their own lives and in society at large. We cover a range of topics from the PSHE and Citizenship syllabuses, whilst also providing curriculum opportunities such as debate and drama.
We offer a wide variety of theatre workshops to develop student’s performance skills. Workshops can cover voice, movement, improvisation, masks and physical theatre. These sessions can be booked individually or can be used as a week long theatre course.
We also deliver drama lessons, Christian Unions and sessions for church and community youth groups.
